BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
It was a special day celebrating two family birthdays – Daniel & our oldest daughter share a birthday together (he affectionately jokes that she stole his birthday 11 years ago and he hasn’t had one since lol). It wasn’t the normal way to spend it – including 10 hours on the road – as we traveled from Kansas City to the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Nevertheless, the kids were excited to see their aunt, uncle, cousins, and grandparents. And since there were two other birthdays this same week (my nephew’s and mine), we just made it a weekend-long celebration instead. We had fun eating out at our favorite local restaurants, swimming, and enjoying the company of family. Indeed it turned out to be a special weekend.
Daniel and I used to live in Fort Worth, and in fact, our oldest was born there. For the last several years, every time I would visit my sister, and would enter the city, I would feel like I was enveloped in the warmth you feel when you come home. So we were also excited to see what the days ahead would hold as we would be meeting with some local pastors and ministry leaders to see if this would indeed become home again for our family.
