KC = MO’ BETTER
You know that feeling you get when you’re around someone that fills you up – in a way that breathes life over you? I’m an extrovert, but only slightly. I enjoy being around people – but get worn out when I’m pouring myself out continually. Or when conversations stay shallow. What fuels me is sitting and having deeper conversations, face to face, with people. The quick and busy hustle and bustle of Convention usually drains me because it doesn’t allow much time for that. Of course the Lord knows this and has once again blessed us deeply by providing new friends with which we could stay and spend time with, get to know better, tour the KC area with, let our kids play together with, and greatly enjoy having rich conversations together.
I’ve been very impressed with Kansas City. The numerous fountains, the unique buildings, the food options, and the lush greenery make it really unique. Today we visited Union Station (wow!), the downtown area, had a delicious, healthy lunch, and basically let the kids have fun acting like crazies together. It was really delightful!
We ended the night with a meal that would delightfully surprise me. As a Texan, I thought these words would never find themselves on my lips – KC barbecue really is good. As in, our dinner was probably the best I’ve ever had. Does this make me a traitor? I don’t care because the brisket, pulled pork, and ribs rocked my world. Even the fries were fantastic. If you want freaking amazing barbecue, get to Joe’s Barbecue in KC. You won’t regret it.
