HOW LONG ‘TIL WE GET THERE?
The boring day. That pretty much describes our trip from Sidney, Nebraska to Kansas City. It was another 8 hour drive, and we mostly pressed through hardcore. There wasn’t really much of anything to look at except farms as far as our eyes could see. Wide open spaces. While I’m not fully giving credit to the historical adventures we could’ve stopped to explore (forts and wild west entertainment) along the way, we were pretty much not feeling the road-trip love this day. So onward we went. We did smile and point at the Archway as we drove underneath in eastern Nebraska.
We briefly crossed through the southwestern corner of Iowa (again adding one more state to my quest, reaching a total of 36 states), before entering Missouri and then arriving in KC, Kansas for the evening. Our kids were delighted to meet their new friends, when we arrived at their house, where we would spend the next few nights. We were ready to explore KC and Kansas University in Lawrence, KS, to see if it would remain on our list of prospective universities.
